Big win for the Banner-Herald
Tuesday August 26, 2008
pwd has the scoop on a media development that’s a winner for the Banner-Herald and for Georgia fans. Marc Weiszer’s a solid beat writer, and Ching coming on board will only improve the Georgia coverage.
I know Ching’s an Auburn guy, but I guess a few years covering the Dawgs showed him how the better half lives. Welcome back, David.

David Hale v. David Ching could be a journalistic blogging cage match for the ages. Dawg fans are big winners here.

Agreed! HUGE coup for the Banner Herald and for Dawgs fans!
Question: Does anyone know of any bars or restaurants in downtown Athens that will be showing the game? Last time we played on PPV (four or five years ago), I remember not being able to find anywhere downtown showing the game. Has that changed? If so, any suggestions on where I can go? My tix situation is a bit unclear at this point and I want to have a backup plan!
Any help is much appreciated.

Downtown bars can be hit or miss…my default answer is to try Loco’s – the Baxter Hill location is the closest one to campus. Give them a call to make sure, but I’d be surprised if they didn’t have the game. I wouldn’t sweat tickets too much though. There will be plenty.
